Allianz Asia Pacific held its 2nd Allianz Digital Day in Singapore last week, hosting over 200 guests from the regional digital community and members of the press in a full-day session.  Allianz Digital Day was conducted in conjunction with the annual Singapore Fintech Festival, a week-long event celebrating the best in fintech.

Day 01: Innovation Lab Crawl

To kick off the day, we had a media dialogue with more than 30 reporters from around the region, including Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, China and Hong Kong.

In the afternoon, Asia Lab opened its doors to the community as part of the Fintech Festival Lab Crawl. Regional CEO,George Sartorel, and Chief Digital Officer,Robin Loh, opened the event by sharing the strategic digital plans and initiatives of Allianz Asia Pacific.

Senior Data Science ManagerLawrence Wee then presented on the potential of harnessing data in early-stage diagnosis of chronic conditions, to drive massive differences in the quality of life for most patients.

Fei Zhang, Allianz’s Global Blockchain Lead, joined us in Singapore to share the headway Allianz has made in blockchain, including the positive momentum behind the industry consortium B3i.

To wrap up the day, Head ofAllianz Asia Lab,Raymond Au, presented a deep dive into how Allianz is building the future of insurance with data.

It was an afternoon filled energy, robust discussions and open questions from our friends and guests.

Day 02: Hosting Swedish Fintech Delegation

On the second day of the Singapore FinTech Festival, theAsia Lab team hosted representatives from 10 Swedish Fintech companies. The delegation was headed by the Director General for the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority and they were also taking part in the week-long 2017 Singapore Fintech Festival.

Raymond Au, Head of Asia Lab, shared Allianz’s data science strategy in the region, and engaged in dialogue with the fintech representatives who were keen to learn and gain a better understanding around the initiatives in Asia.
